Reflections

It’s been nearly a year (51 weeks to be precise) since I started this blog, and I still can’t quite make up my mind about it… I love the name, but I don’t like the space I’ve created yet. On a whim, I decided to move from Blogger to WordPress, but I haven’t fully got to grips with WordPress yet whereas I had 4.5 years experience with Blogger and knew how to customise it, use plugins etc. I had invested a lot of time and energy into the Glasgow Mummy blog… I had built up a following that I was really proud of, and the site was a reflection of me at that time. I had even hired a designer to create a logo for me.

Poor Ethel Explores though has not has as much time and effort put into her… she’s lacking personality and I need to rectify this. My stats are nowhere near as good as they used to be. I realised that starting afresh would be hard work but I didn’t anticipate it taking this long to get it up and running again. Next year I am going to aim to write more regularly, rather than the sporadic bursts of activity that I’ve been doing lately. I am also going to allow myself time to get to grips with WordPress… perhaps starting with a few YouTube tutorials. Here’s hoping that in 2017 I can create a space on the internet that I’m proud of again.
